Friends of Highland Recreation Area (FOHRA)





  • The FOHRA group was formed to preserve and restore historic structures originally built by Edsel & Eleanor Ford.
  • Ongoing consulting for managing and maintaining structures.
  • Assisted with temporary weather proofing of the sheep barn, in an effort to stop further damage.
  • Ongoing donation of heavy equipment to assist in clean up and restoration of historic structures and landscape.
South Eastern Michigan Land Conservancy (SMLC)

    Ongoing consulting for managing and maintaining structures.
    Metal roof preservation using historically appropriate asphalt based aluminum roof coating.
    Preserved and rebuilt original barn door rollers and track.
    Out building minor repairs and door hardware adjustments.
    Main farm house basement environment and leak repairs.
